Sun Diamonds out now!

Adventurous indie-folk, folk-rock, Americana influenced music for like-minded adventurous people.

The Red Tails is an indie-folk/folk-rock collective led by singer/songwriter Zack Gruczkowski (Blue Ridge, Atlanta). As a recording band, Zack is joined by North Georgia, Atlanta, and Nashville-based musician friends to record the Americana and modern folk influenced songs Zack writes from his cabin porch and mountain studio. As a performing outfit, Zack carries The Red Tails banner as a solo artist, sometimes joined by other other talented musicians on fiddle, additional guitars, or a full band.

The Red Tails was born of the 2020 pandemic when all of the music clubs shut down and live music slowed to a screeching halt. Raised on Led Zeppelin and the Foo Fighters, Zack grew up playing in rock bands, 80s hair metal tribute bands, and anything loud and fun. After finding artists like Jason Isbell, The Head & The Heart, First Aid Kit and other modern Americana/folk heroes, Zack began writing and recording a much more mellow brand of music and started playing vineyards, patios, and private parties in the mountains while we learned how to adapt and survive.

Recorded at Standard Electric Sound Recorders in Atlanta, Talona Spur was the first single released in this style and picked up fast traction with media outlets (Indie Boulevard review, Mountain Laurel Magazine interview), Spotify playlisters, and a global audience. Since then, The Red Tails have released several new singles including the April 2025 introspective song Sun Diamonds. The Red Tails original music lends itself to be your adventurous companion, whether on the road, on the trail, navigating life’s tough questions, or celebrating with friends and family.

Come hear The Red Tails live in North Georgia venues and events to hear classic rock favorites, modern folk/Americana hits, 90s + 00s rock + grunge, and maybe even a little Dolly Parton...
